We have just had a fabulous week-end with Catherine, our friend from Melrose, who came down for a couple of days. It was so great to see her and it was a relief for us to see her arrive as it was her first time driving by herself all the way from the Scottish Borders!! Well done Catherine! She loved Tall Storeys and the Old Town. We discovered that her husband Jonathan`s father was born and brought up in Scarborough so she found the house where he used to live in South Cliff Esplanade! How fabulous! His Grandfather used to own The Hall in Thornton Le Dale, it is now a Retirement Home. So interesting finding out a little bit of history. We ate delicious fish and chips at the Golden Grid and afterwards Catherine and I went to see The Quiet Time at the Hollywood Plaza……..an absolutely amazing film, but it is full of jumpy moments so be warned!! On Saturday evening again Catherine and I went to see The Scary Bikers at the Stephen Joseph Theatre. A John Godber play starring none other than John himself and Jane Thornton. Absolutely fabulous. It was great to see the theatre so full and everyone appreciative of the Yorkshire humour and characters portrayed!
