Christmas Cake – Three Jolly Sailors

Christmas is only a stones throw away – where has the time gone?? I have been trying out our new ovens with various dishes including cakes and pastries – have discovered Eccles Cakes are so easy to make and so delicious! Anyway, thought I would have a go at a Mary Berry Christmas Cake and I am delighted with the result……advice is to keep feeding it with Brandy, but how often and how much??  Oh well…little and often may be the answer……….think I will make another one – just in case we have to try the first one before Xmas!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tonight (Friday) we are going to the Three Jolly Sailor Pub in Burniston to listen to our very own choir master playing with his revival band – Locomotion! Music from the greatest decade of music I believe so looking forward to that.  Another night out – no wonder I am exhausted! Had our usual quiz night on Tuesday, Choir practice Wednesday, Morris Dancing Thursday, Spa Theatre on Friday, and now the Three Jolly Sailors tonight! Busy day tomorrow at Tall Storeys – full house again – big changeover on Sunday and more guests arriving Monday – certainly is all go at the moment……….not complaining though!
